The movie Earthlings is a powerful catalyst for change.  It creates such a strong impact that many people decide right then and there to stop participating in and contributing to the animal industry.  You can read about my views about veganism and watch Earthlings here.

Chai Ice Cream

1/2 glas of almond milk

1/4 vanilla bean (or just the seeds)

4  large de-pitted dates

1 teaspoon almond butter

2 teaspoons cinnamon

some cardamon

a dash of nutmeg

3 large over-ripe, peeled and frozen bananas

Mix all ingredients except for the bananas.  Add the banans and mix.  Do not overmix or the ice cream will start to melt.

It is a song by Craig Smith from New Zealand.  I heard that he came up with this song after playing rugby when he and his rugby friends saw a donkey and started calling it the wonkey donkey.  Apparently the song just took off from there.  Now you can even buy the book!

The key to feeling good is: feeling good.   It seems obvious and yet this is where most of us mess up.  Feeling good is the starting point, not just the end.  If we start by feeling good we can create wonderful interactions and events.  If we start out feeling bad, sad, angry, or depressed it is so much harder to create happiness and joy around us.

Making feeling good a priority, we can happily access “The Vortex” that Abraham talk about.

Here is some of the latest from them.  It is an explanation of The Vortex.  It is the Vortex of wellbeing.  You may imagine it as containing everything you want and have asked for.  It has also been called the vibrational escrow.  Here Abraham explain how we can access it and what we usually do that sets us apart from it.

It actually started out with me going to YouTube to look for fun videos that would make me smile.  If you can change how you feel, you can change how you interact with the world.  I wanted something that would be warm, heart warming, and bring and instant smile to my face.  That was when I thought of cats.  Then I thought that other cat lovers out there could probably benefit as well.  So, here it is.  My new inspirational site.  Here is a screen shot and a link:

They ended up participating in the 2 Day Class “How to Be Your Own Chef…and Still Have Time To Eat”.  Both of them really enjoyed it.  One of the things they did the first day was a salad.  This is something that one would expect in raw foods, and so they were not that excited about the concept, … that is until they tried the salad.  It had marinated mushrooms and all sorts of things that made it taste delicious.

They also made a mango pie.  One of my friends said that it was the best pie or cake he has ever had in his life.  And that includes all the cakes he had before he became vegan and all the vegan cakes as well.  He promised he would share the recipe with me.  I am really excited about trying it. (Yesterday I actually happened to make a mango pie myself.  This is a different one, not the Raw Chef’s.  It was incredibly easy, basically three ingredients, but surprisingly tasty.  I put up a link to the video of it in Raw Food Resources.)

Another thing that they really liked was the raw bread.  If I understood correctly it was made out of wheat and prepared in the dehydrator.  Now this is something that I can miss, being on a raw diet.  I love making sandwiches rubbed in garlic and with tomatoes and basil.  But I have still not learned how to make raw bread.

Another tip they really enjoyed was how to make “raw rice” that is not rice at all.  Standing two feet away from it you would think it is rice.  And the texture of it is like rice but the taste is a little fresher than that of cooked rice.

So, my friends feel that, not only did they get to learn how to make gourmet raw food and learn how to make things that one would not associate with raw, but they also got to learn a lot of handy tips and tricks.

It is very much like Twitter, only here you do not tweet what you are doing.  Instead you express your gratitude and say what you are happy for.  You can also give your friends all kinds of presents.  And this community too, is starting to grow.
